Plant
Alone in a bustling city, a young woman named Eve finds a plant and cares for it in a way that inspires her to care for herself, standing up to the things she’s been running from. Even when everything comes crashing down, there is another chance at life for herself, her environment, and the plant.

FADE IN:
INT. STUDIO -- VERY LATE AT NIGHT
VOICE (V.O.) drifts in, calm but weighted.
Behind every Weekend Studios' story, there is one of sleepless nights, endless video calls, and editing to the point of diminishing return. We catch glimpses of the TEAM — exhausted but lively, exchanging glances, laughter, and silence.

field notes

The whole team was pleased with the amount of animals and wildlife that volunteered themselves to swim, hop, and fly their way into the frame.
Ella Abbott
I was only familiar with a few of the locations, Eve hat to navigate each space and location in real-time, day of. This helped to create the feeling of her "wandering".
Malachi Abbott
I never imagined filming would be such a beautiful experience. Start to finish felt seamless and genuine, and any nerves I had melted away. I have such fond memories bringing this piece to life with everyone!
Eve Lordi
My favorite aspect of the entire project was scouting the locations and also finding new ones on shoot day. To me, Pittsburgh made this movie. With no dialogue, "Plant" relies so heavily on its visuals. It was a great excuse to explore more of the city.
Ella Abbott
We didn’t have half the gear we wished for, but every time something broke, someone came up with a smarter way to make it work.
Rohan Bandekar
Having met in Pittsburgh only a few months earlier, Rohan and I were preparing to move from the city. I was set to move to days after shooting and Rohan a few weeks later.
